Anne’s classes draw from her studies of Limon technique, principles of conditioning, and somatic practices. She enables dancers to care and attend to their bodies through dynamic phrase work that balances core-strength, use of breath, musicality, and self-expression. She believes technique classes are to support the vast demands of choreography and to facilitate joint mobility and stability throughout the body.
About Anne!
Anne Wilcox (MFA) presents nationally and internationally on topics such as kinesthetic education, creativity, assessment, intergenerational dance, and linguistics and dance. She is a former President of NYSDEA and founder of the educational company Active Learning Games. For twenty-five years she directed the contemporary dance company, Present Tense Dance, and in 2024 published her first book, Get Up and Learn: Anatomy.
